I have a good friend named Steph Anderson. She is an amazing girl and a true friend. In conversation one day she shared the heart of "The Middle Name Project".
The Heart Behind The Middle Name Project:
When you reflect on your past and the people that you shared it with, you learn lots of names and make many friends. You may even know their last name. But how many people can you say you know their middle name? More than often they're the ones you truly loved and cared for. The friends who cried with you, laughed with you, sneezed with you, laughed at you sneezing while your were crying.
Although the emphasis isn't on learning people middle names (also some people may not have a middle names.) The idea is to take the time of day to sit down with someone, and just listen. Let them share their heart, hear their story, learn from their experiences. It's a simple thing, but we don't do it enough.
I believe this is something Jesus would have done when he walked on this earth, and I personally have been incredibly inspired to sit down and take the time to just listen. We are all searching to learn more and more about life. And for all we know the old man who sits and reads his paper every day by the bus stop might have the answer to the questions we've been asking.
Steph has a goal to portray the heart of "The Middle Name Project" through documentaries. Giving someone who has never been heard a microphone, a platform to share what their life experiences has taught them up until now. So thanks Steph for your vision, and I hope we can all learn to learn to truly love and value our neighbour.
He's a video that may change your mind about who God is.
But as I learnt in worship this morning, God doesn't like boxes or conforming to a formula we've created, so bring on the burning bush and talking mule!!!
